Glenmore Mobility

4.0(80 reviews)·Edinburgh

Glenmore Mobility holds a 4 rating from 80 Google reviews. Positive reviews describe helpful, friendly staff for scooter and wheelchair hire, including arranging last-minute replacement equipment and competitive rental prices for holidaymakers. However, a recurring theme among lower-rated reviews is slow or unresponsive after-sales support — customers report delays obtaining spare parts, difficulty getting a refund resolved, and being given an incorrect handbook for a purchased scooter — so prospective customers may wish to clarify after-sales and parts turnaround before buying.

AVOID buying a scooter from Glenmore. They do not provide a handbook with the scooter . Request one and you get one for “Brand X”. Ask for the right one and you get some photocopied pages for the correct make but wrong model. Appalling service.

I’ve delayed posting this review in the hope Michael or Conrad would have had the decency to reply to my emails or contact me by phone in relation to a refund but they have failed. I am posting this review in the hope that any family member who deals with this company on behalf of a vulnerable adult is aware of our circumstances. My father like most who will visit this company is a vulnerable adult. He visited the store in Bathgate without myself so I can’t speak for his decision making at this time, however normal big purchases are normally done together as a family with my sister and I having POA. My father decided he would purchase a chair but after only a few days changed his mind which he is in his right to do so and called to cancel the order. My father told me he was meet with a very disgruntled member of staff on the phone and there was no further conversation. At no point during this conversation did a member of staff discuss the refund process with my father. Having told my sister and I of this, I contacted the number on the paperwork which I then spoke to Michael who works in the Edinburgh store. Michael was very helpful at this time and apologised that no refund had been done and was assured this would be sorted. I then spent 6 almost 7 weeks changing this! Only when i threatened further action was a refund processed finally. I spent time weekly chasing to be told that it was being processed and it never was! This caused my father nothing but unnecessary stress. He struggles with his speech and therefore relies on others to do these things for him. My father is lucky he has family who look after his finances but I want to make this very clear to others who may not be so lucky that had I not chased this constantly they would have kept the money. I just wonder how many other times this has happened to others and it’s gone unnoticed! Now my father did sign paperwork stating if there was a cancellation 25% of the cost would be retained. Understandable. When I spoke to Michael he assured me more than once that my father would receive a full refund due to the lengthy time he had waited and since he had never even sat on the chair he put an order in for. Did we receive a full refund? We did not. They kept the 25% and now will not answer any emails in relation to this. Whilst this company retained my father’s money… which is a lot of money! Was this gaining interest in their accounts?! I’m really saddened this was our experience

It's really difficult to find a shop that sells walking sticks at the weekend but luckily Glenmore Mobility at Dalry Road were open today (Saturday). The gentleman there was extremely helpful and polite, would definitely recommend.

I was extremely impressed with the service I received on my recliner I purchased at Recycling First (2nd hand) and was able to pay off the bill in 3 installments - Bravo

Bought a mobility chair for dad and everything has been great until we need a part for the chair. I phoned Glenmore on 7th Aug to request the part. I have since phoned and emailed and been told the part will be there over a week ago. The part had still not arrived. My dad is 92 and has mobility issues and requires daily use of the chair. I have explained this more than once to staff and yet still to hear when the part will arrive, it’s now 26th Aug and he has not been able to use the chair. Absolutely frustrating and very concerned for my dad’s welfare as he had to use a wheelchair until part arrives. Would definitely not recommend.

I have hired twice now from Glenmore, the first being from baggage handlers breaking my wife's wheelchair chair when we came up to visit. Glenmore supplied an ideal replacement for our stay. This time we hired a mobility scooter. My wife was unsure if it would cope with the hills and challenges of Edinburgh. The guys at Glenmore sorted us out with a perfectly matched vehicle which was superb and fulfilled all needs and expectations. I would highly recommend Glenmore.
