What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

In Stoke-on-Trent, the wheelchair service draws a sharply divided response from those who use it. Praise centres on the help given during assessment and the support provided while waiting for equipment, with one parent describing staff as going out of their way to assist after her son was measured for a replacement chair, and the collection itself passing smoothly. Against this, reviewers repeatedly describe communication as poor: calls not returned, messages not acted upon and a sense that concerns about a child's new chair were not taken seriously. A recurring complaint concerns waiting without a working wheelchair, with users describing weeks spent housebound and loan equipment offered that did not match their needs.

Several accounts describe being passed between staff without a clear answer, and the handling of complaints is described as slow and unsatisfying. The strongest dissatisfaction is directed at the branch manager, with customers describing dealings that felt obstructive rather than helpful, though the practical help provided at handover is acknowledged. The service arranges assessments, supplies and repairs wheelchairs, and provides loan chairs while repairs are carried out, and it is this gap between initial support and later follow-up that shapes the mixed picture.

Zero information care less very unprofessional. Sorry for people hus have to be involved whit this company. Had recently new story with this horrible service wich just waste money and lie. So my wheelchair needs new wheels due to broken spokes. New wheels arrived Friday 31 of July. I called wheelchair services on Monday 3 of August and been told they will deliver to me today on Friday 7 of August. So this morning they called me said they will be in today by 4pm. They never turned up. As was waiting all day I did call again. Apparently wheels was came disabled so needed put tubes and tyres on the rim. Let's be honest its literally are easy as even kid's can do that. Its same as bicycle tyres. Been told the tubes was follty witch I suspect was not the case. Now I even don't know when they will arrive. Its just joke. They don't care or know what they doing. Just telling lies. No wonder people getting rude to them as they just so bad services providers. They treat disabled people like they not just paralysed but also completely brain dead. So what attitude they expect after treating as this way.

We went in February for my son to get measured for a new wheelchair because his had seen better days, the lady said he would be waiting 18 weeks for his new chair to arrive, 16 weeks later he gets a phone call to pick up his new chair, so yesterday we went to collect it, I cannot thank them for all the help and support he has recieved, nothings to much bother, fantastic place, fantastic staff thankyou very much from one relieved mother

Lack of service. I was assessed for a powered chair in september 2024 told it would be 18week turn around. Luckily I have access to a manual chair that my husband with MS was provided with. I can't leave my house for appointments outside the nhs as I need help to propell myself in a manual chair as since my stroke I'm unable to use my left arm. Each time I call for an update I'm told it's on order. Have your clinical needs changed. No bu my mental health has changed as to gain som independence would be very much needed

Waiting for a wheelchair 6 months, still waiting .Had to wait 4 months to partly patch up old wheelchair. I am paraylised legs being fully blind. This year 3 times in hospital 5 hospital appointments, de to chair unsafe I had to have in certain wards bed bound waisting nurses valuable time. At present the wheelçhair is bearing up desperately for my made to measure chair due to spinaland body twist the chair at the present is causing sores and and pain. Is this to turn into years that is to be continued waiting and l have again to go in hospital due to the old chair again this is my tax paying money and the county.

It should really be a 0 star .I've been waiting nearly 3 years for my wheelchair to be delivered . They came out to me to take my measurements that was July 2023 .they have brought two wheelchairs to me both wrong .and now I've got a woman who was trained buy the gestapo telling me I've got to go to them to collect my chair, the only problem is i don't have a wheelchair. This woman is the gate keeper of the company .the is a receptionist she has no medial training and she is telling me i have to go to them .the last three times they came to me . Because i can't walk and need a wheelchair .oh and apparently there house bound is completely different to a doctors housebound which. Is ridiculous. Oh yes i forgot to say they record there phone calls for training and i also recorded all off my phone call for proof of how awful the gestapo lady talks to people.

My mum had her app for a new wheelchair in sep 2024 , 6 months on and a number of phone calls later we are still waiting for it, shocking service for people so in need to have to wait 6 months when they make out the longest it will be is 18 weeks !
