St. David’s Shopping Centre Mobility Service

Oh dear :( Can't believe such bad service still exists. Rang to book a scooter as I'd arranged to meet some friends for lunch at 1pm and was told to ring them once I arrived and someone would bring one to me. At 12:30, the time I booked it, I rang the same number but it went to voicemail. Left a message and waited, and waited, and waited. No call back. Tried the number again several times but it just went to voicemail. By this time I'm desperate for the loo but I'm stuck in a multi-story carpark with no options. I found another number for St. David's shopping centre so I rang them. The woman just heard scooter and said I'll put you through before I could say no-one was answering.... Yep. Voicemail again. Eventually someone answered and agreed to bring me a scooter. No apology for taking so long. The man didn't bring the scooter to the car so I had to use my crutches. I asked to use the disabled toilet in the room but was told it was for staff only. Eventually got the paperwork filled in and was able to take the scooter. He told there were toilets on Floor 2, but people in the lift said that was incorrect and showed me where to go. He never mentioned I couldn't take the scooter out of the Shopping Centre so I went where I wanted to. When we returned to the carpark we pressed the button on the parking machine to give back the scooter to be told no-one was available to collect the scooter. We just left it by the door. This service is a joke, staffed by people who have zero empathy for anyone with a disability.

Can ony use it in St David's and cannot use it in city centre !!! Sorry this limits disabled people to stay in one shopping centre only . I'd rather not visit Cardiff at all if I'm confined to one place . Visitors want to explore the city centre not be locked in one place . If I could post this without a star I would !!

Absolutely fantastic service and free to top it off!! Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The shop was shut when we arrived but there is a telephone number to call and someone was with us within minutes to sort out the hiring of the mobility scooter. Cannot praise this service enough. Thank you!

My husband wanted to go to Cardiff but can't order mobility scooter, has now hes got to stay in st David's centre, which is no good for him as he loves the indoor market
