Premier Community - Mobility Shop

Premier Community was founded in 1996 by former nurse Gill Isterling. It is a family-owned and run business, now run by Gill Isterling's five sons: Ben, Dan, Joe, Tim and Aidan. The company has a team of over 630 dedicated care professionals and mobility experts. Premier Community operates mobility shops across the East Midlands, with stores in Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire, and South Derbyshire.

The Carlton mobility shop stocks mobility scooters, riser recliners, walking aids, wheelchairs, living aids, and Cosyfeet footwear. It offers home delivery and full installation options, works with experienced, local engineers, and provides one-to-one advice from knowledgeable Community Branch Managers. Premier Community has been caring for communities in the East Midlands since 1996. It delivers over 14,000 domiciliary care visits per week and employs over 560 active carers.

Carlton residents highlight a mobility shop where personal attention from staff, particularly Jayne, stands out. Reviewers consistently note that she listens without making people feel judged, gives guidance with patience and kindness, and helps visitors identify equipment suited to their circumstances. The selection of stock comes up often, covering aids, furniture, scooters and various gadgets, with further items obtainable to order, and customers regard the pricing as sensible for the quality provided. Recurring praise concerns the confidence gained by those who came in feeling uneasy about seeking assistance, leaving better informed and more assured, including a family whose daughter's mobility requirements were handled sensitively.

One shopper recalls Tim showing a powered wheelchair that a carer could also steer, illustrating the hands-on advice available. The pace of service is described as relaxed, with time given to discuss options for conditions such as Parkinson's. Customers also appreciate being able to buy precisely what they came for in one trip, and the shop is valued as a local resource for older people and those affected by illness or disability. Jayne's compassionate approach remains the thread running through these accounts.
