ETECH MOTION | Electric Wheelchairs | Mobility Scooters

4.2(154 reviews)·Birmingham

ETECH MOTION | Electric Wheelchairs | Mobility Scooters holds a 4.2 rating from 154 Google reviews. Most reviewers praise friendly, non-pushy staff - engineer Asif is named for his help - quick delivery, and responsive after-sales support, including free replacement bolts and prompt repairs within days of a fault being reported. However, a recurring concern in some reviews involves quality control and complaint handling on more complex orders: one customer described a bariatric wheelchair with a misaligned footplate that caused dangerous drifting, and another reported a chair delivered damaged with missing accessories and a slow response from customer service, so buyers of higher-spec or bariatric models may wish to inspect equipment carefully on arrival.

Great service from really friendly staff that don't push or upsell. So far I'm over the moon with my Etech freedom elite auto fold chair. I only received it yesterday (DX were amazing). Trialled it around my small flat and on the steep path/ramp that leads to the footpath, which it handled with ease! I'm getting the hang of sensitive joystick controls (use lowest power and tiny movement on joystick for best control in smaller spaces and higher power for inclines or longer, straight paths). I'll update this info if I incurr any problems, so far the chair and Etech mobility receive an warranted 5 stars. Thank you Asif for all your help.

I strongly advise against purchasing this wheelchair, especially if you are a larger user. I bought the Enterprise 200 – Bariatric Folding Electric Wheelchair, which clearly advertises a 200kg weight limit. As someone who specifically needed a foldable power chair, I visited their showroom, tested the demo model, and initially found it excellent—stable, smooth, and confidence-inspiring. Based on that experience, I went ahead with the purchase. Unfortunately, from that point on, everything went downhill. Within the first 4 hours, I discovered a serious issue: the footplate had been fitted incorrectly (off-centre), which made turning left difficult and unsafe. After contacting the company and providing video evidence, I was told it could be replaced—but this required a 5-hour round trip to collect a new chair. The replacement initially seemed better, but when I tested it outside my bungalow, the situation became dangerous. While using the chair on a slight decline (nothing extreme), I experienced severe drifting. When I attempted to stop using the joystick, the brakes engaged—but they were not strong enough to stabilise the chair, especially with weight in it. The rear wheels locked, but the chair slid sideways, causing me to come off the curb completely—specifically from the higher corner section. This was extremely frightening and could have ended much worse. For clarity regarding the video evidence I am uploading: I was not recording at the time of the incident itself, so I asked my partner to recreate exactly what I had done in the same area just outside my property. My partner is around 10 stone lighter than me, yet the chair behaved in the same dangerous way. The video shows her experiencing the same drifting issue—but the key difference is that she was able to put her feet down to stop herself falling, which I am physically unable to do. This highlights just how dangerous this chair is for actual wheelchair users. For context: * I am a disabled woman with very limited use of my lower body. * I have used power chairs for over 10 years and never experienced anything like this. * My partner, despite being significantly lighter, experienced the same issue, proving this is not simply a weight-related problem. To be very clear: This chair is NOT safe, and it does NOT perform as advertised for higher weight users. What made matters worse was how the company handled the situation: * I had to fight every step of the way to prove the issue, despite providing video evidence. * I was asked to perform tasks I physically cannot do (such as walking to the chair and pushing it manually), even after clearly explaining my disability multiple times. * I felt dismissed, embarrassed, and belittled. After just 48 hours, I requested a full refund, which was eventually agreed—but even this process was difficult. I was expected to: * Pack the chair myself into a large box * Arrange collection over multiple days As someone who is disabled, this was completely unrealistic without external help. Thankfully I had assistance—but what about those who don’t? This product is marketed as promoting: * Independence * Confidence * Mobility Instead, it left me feeling: * Vulnerable * Unsafe * Distressed * Overwhelmed ⸻ Final warning: Please do not buy this chair if your safety matters to you. This is not a minor issue—it is a serious design flaw that could lead to injury. I would not want anyone else to go through what I experienced

Very pleased with all the service this company has provided me over the last few years. I bought an electric wheelchair in 2023 which was delivered to NI quickly and efficiently. I bought further items since then and again received excellent service. On this occasion I rang them when I noticed some missing bolts while carrying out some maintenance on the chair. They immediately offered to send me some free of charge. I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone needing mobility support. Thank you so much.

Great product prompt delivery and after battery charge ready to go. Mum trundling around the house no problem easy to pass thro standard doors and turns like a shopping trolley would. Easy to fold just 1 clip and as a bonus can still drive it folded with remote power stick. Definitely recommend.

I bought an electric wheelchair and some accessories and add ons. The only thing that I would have bought was a bag to store the extended leg rest for when I needed them. They don't sell them as yet. I am delighted to say that the folding mechanism is brilliant. This wheelchair I bought is really comfortable. It rides smoothly over areas my other wheelchair would not. I would feel every bump which jarred my back. I can go on all terrain now, even cobbled streets. It turns at a 20° angle and I can fit through the doors at my Gp's office. I have nerve and spinal damage and can stay for longer in the wheelchair. The staff communication is really good. They are easy to talk to and are honest and actually care. I had regular contact and updates by email. Phone calls are not a problem. They give a great professional service.
