Excellent service. Friendly staff. Really recommend.

I borrowed a powerchair from Equal Lives and the staff were so helpful and friendly, I'd really recommend the service to Disabled people wanting a day out with less pain and more energy. I was able to leave my manual chair with them safely whilst I hired the powerchair, meaning I could independently navigate the hills and cobbles around Norwich. This was my first solo holiday and having access to this shop mobility meant I could do this independently and explore, with out worrying whether I had the energy to get back again.

We come back to Norwich on occasion to visit family and we can’t always travel with powered mobility aids. We have used ShopMobility twice now when visiting with my disabled mum and my disabled trans boyfriend. Now I mention him being trans as we were concerned about the ID need for him and we only have the Blue Badge for his ID. They were extremely accepting and helpful on the phone when I called to address this. If you require an assistance animal that isn’t registered, dogs are permitted on the floor that this service is on! Couldn’t ask for a better service to be honest.

We were distraught when the Shopmobility scheme in Chapelfield closed down during the pandemic; but the fact that it has restarted under new management, and is now FREE, has utterly restored our independence. The new operators, Equal Lives, are friendly and helpful, and despite evident disabilities, couldn’t do enough for us. As a local charity they really do seem to put into practice what they preach. And we are certain that, if they can find additional volunteers, they will restore the provision of what has always been an invaluable service for the local community. We are extremely grateful—thank you!
